Gang Zeng, PhD

Dr. Zeng is a T cell expert who has devoted over 25 years to studying the immunobiology of cancer/testis antigens and their clinical implications. Earlier in his career, Dr. Zeng completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the NCI with Dr. Steven A. Rosenberg where Dr. Zeng and his colleagues were the first to clone NY-ESO-1 using T cells. After joining UCLA faculty in 2002, his lab was the first to identify dendritic cell surface receptors for NY-ESO-1 and develop the “A+PSA” immunodiagnostic assay for prostate cancer. His work has resulted in 10 patents and more than 40 peer-reviewed publications as well as grant support from the Department of Defense, American Cancer Society and National Institutes of Health. Dr. Zeng is a recipient of the Certificate of Achievement from NCI, the Stein Oppenheimer award and Lab2Market award from UCLA. Dr. Zeng holds a research professorship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech and a BS in Biology from Peking University.

Gordon Parry, PhD

Dr. Parry has over 25 years experience in oncology drug development in early stage biotechnology and mid stage pharmaceutical companies. He began his biotechnology career leading the commercial development of the first GM-CSF based autologous tumor cell vaccines at Somatix Gene Therapy. Upon acquisition of the company by Cell Genesys he moved to Berlex Biosciences, (R&D arm of Schering A.G.), where he became Head of the Cancer Research Department. Subsequent to Berlex Biosciences, he was Vice President of Oncology at Monogram Biosciences. He has served on several advisory councils, including the California Breast Cancer Council and is the author of more than 50 papers and holds several patents. Dr. Parry obtained his PhD in biochemistry at University College London and carried out post-doctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley, after which he spent 10 years at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.

John I. Gordon

John specializes in advising US and international public and private companies in the life sciences industry. His expertise includes corporate finance, securities law, intellectual property and business transactions. Prior to working with the company, John was the managing partner of the Hong Kong office of New York law firm Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, was a partner with Chinese law firm King & Wood and lived and worked in China and Hong Kong for over 12 years. John received his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, and his law degree from the University of Southern California.

William Tanner is Lead, Global Business Development at T-Cure. Since November 2021, Dr. Tanner has served as CFO at Danforth Advisors where he works with emerging biotechnology companies across a range of operational and financing activities. Prior to joining Danforth, Dr. Tanner was Co-Founder and CFO of ImmunoGenesis, a biotechnology company focused on the treatment of “cold” cancers with immune-modulating assests in-licensed from the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Dr. Tanner was a senior biotechnology analyst for more than 20 years at leading healthcare investment banks including SG Cowen, Leerink Swann, Lazard Capital Markets and Guggenheim Securities. He was the recipient of a National Research Service Award while a post-doctoral fellow at the Washington University Medical School.

Chrystal Torry has over 10 years of experience in Human Resource Management. As a seasoned Human Resources leader and professional, she has used her strong human resources background and a blend of experience in various positions within private and public sectors to affect positive change in the organization’s where she has worked.  Effectively balancing big picture thinking and strategic planning with hands-on execution has allowed her to combine decisiveness and strong business acumen to achieve objectives both professionally and personally. Chrystal received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Woodbury University. She also has a Certification in Professional in Human Resources – California (PHRca). She is currently a member of the Biocom California Committee, the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and HR Advisory.
